If your server has the ISPmanager control panel installed, creating a new FTP user is a breeze.
Below is a short step-by-step guide on how to do it, including setting a password and a home directory the user will not be able to leave.
Creating a new FTP user
- STEP 1: Log in to the control panel as root at https://your_ip:1500/ispmgr
- STEP 2: In the left-hand menu, open: Accounts - FTP users
- STEP 3: Click Create
- STEP 4: Enter the desired username, password, and the full path to the folder the new user will have access to.
You can now connect via the FTP protocol (port 21) using any FTP client.
